(max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/rescue-kittens-c686c4a8ad154ff8a68b48d573934094. June is Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat month.
Many rescue groups and shelters may have special events this month. Pop-up events for shelter cats take place at local pet stores, parks, and other types of locations. Most rescue groups are often organizing adoptions with their groups of animals. Unlike shelters, animals at shelters are most in need of homes. If they are not adopted, they may be more at risk for euthanasia.
Finding a cat that has been in the shelter for a while can be difficult. If you’re not looking to adopt, there are other ways you can help animals find their forever homes. Volunteering at a shelter can be a great way to help care for cats waiting for homes. You can also support shelters by giving money or supplies. Many cat parents started by helping shelters take care of their pets before deciding to adopt another one. Kitten care can be overwhelming since they tend to get into lots of trouble and can't be left alone for long periods of time. Adult and senior cats are usually lower maintenance and you know more about their personalities.
A senior cat can have lots of life left and lots of love to give. . .
